Pilot Vessels

The safe navigation of large ships in and out of Auckland’s two harbours requires an experienced pilot to be taken aboard. Pilot boats operate at high speed in even the most atrocious conditions to ferry pilots to and from ships.

Holton Marine services the Auckland harbour pilot boats and undertakes general maintenance, major refits and refurbishment of them when required.

Recent work includes:

• Repair and line boring the drive shaft leg on the vessel Sea Express.
• Hull repairs including replacement of an underwater hull section to Lloyds standards.
